Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy (“CHD Policy”) supplements the URIO Privacy Policy and applies to personal information that falls within the definition of “consumer health data” under applicable state laws, including Washington’s My Health My Data Act, Connecticut’s Data Privacy Act, and Nevada’s SB 370. We encourage you to review the URIO Privacy Policy for full details about our privacy practices.

URIO is a general wellness application. It is not a medical device and is not a HIPAA-covered entity. This CHD Policy does not apply to de-identified data that has been processed in accordance with the de-identification practices described in Section 6 of our Privacy Policy, as such data cannot identify any individual.

1. Categories of Consumer Health Data We Collect

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following categories of consumer health data:

2. Sources of Consumer Health Data

  • Directly from you: When you log voids, beverages, medications, supplements, conditions, or complete assessments
  • Your mobile device: Apple Health sleep data (with your permission, processed locally on your device only)
  • Automatically during use: Aggregate article reading statistics when you use the Wellness Library

3. Purposes for Collecting Consumer Health Data

  • To provide the App’s core functionality, including generating insights, charts, trends, and reports based on your tracking data
  • To personalize your experience based on your conditions, medications, and preferences
  • To improve the quality and relevance of Wellness Library content (using aggregate reading statistics only)
  • To support de-identified research (only with your explicit consent)
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Sharing of Consumer Health Data

We may share consumer health data with the following categories of third parties, only as described below:

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share consumer health data with advertisers, data brokers, employers, or insurers.

5. Your Rights

Applicable state laws provide the following rights with respect to your consumer health data, subject to certain exceptions:

Washington and Nevada residents:

  • Right to know: What categories of consumer health data we collect, share, or sell. You may also request access to your consumer health data and a list of third parties with whom we have shared it.
  • Right to deletion: Request that we, our affiliates, service providers, and contractors delete the consumer health data we have about you.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or sharing of your consumer health data where we rely on consent.
  • Right against discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Connecticut residents:

  • Right to know: What consumer health data we collect, use, disclose, and/or sell or share. You may request a portable copy up to two times in a rolling twelve-month period.
  • Right to deletion: Request deletion of your consumer health data.
  • Right to opt-out: Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of consumer health data, and profiling. (URIO does not engage in targeted advertising, sale of data, or profiling.)
  • Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate consumer health data.
  • Right against discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
  • Sensitive data consent: We will not process your consumer health data for purposes beyond those disclosed here without your affirmative consent.

Exercising your rights:

You may exercise your rights by contacting [email protected] or by using the data management features within the App’s Settings.

We will respond to your request within 30 days. We reserve the right to extend the response time by an additional 30 days when reasonably necessary, with notice to you within the initial 30-day period.

How to appeal:

If your request is denied, we will provide the reason for denial and instructions for appeal. We will respond to appeals within 45 days.

  • Connecticut residents: If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint with the Connecticut Attorney General at https://www.dir.ct.gov/ag/complaint/.
  • Nevada residents: If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint with the Nevada Attorney General at https://ag.nv.gov/complaints/.
  • Washington residents: If your appeal is denied, you may submit a complaint with the Washington Attorney General at https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
